Rose Spit...
The very tip is something to see during a storm. This is a point
on the northern tip of the island where two very different sea conditions
can be seen at the same time. The closer I got to the tip of the
spit, it definitely got windier as there was less to break the wind for
me, and also the view was spectacular. On one side of me, there were
relatively calm seas, and to the other, stormy raging seas with large waves
crashing the beach.

As you can see from
the last 3 pictures here(I took them all one after another from the exact
same spot) the view to the west was quite a bit different than the one
to the east. All I can say is WOW!
As this was very close to the end
of my journey, I didn't get more than one night out on the spit, but I'd
still say the long hike was worth it for the view and the scenery.
