Along the eastern coast, an interesting walk that can be done easily in a few hours is the hike to the shipwreck.  This hike meanders through forest for a while, then it's out to the beach for a few miles.
The trail head is at the southern tip of Niakoon Provincial Park, just north of the town of Tlell.  Just as you cross of the Tlell river heading north from Misty Meadows campground, the trail head is on the right.  It is within walking distance of the campground, or is a very short drive.

Ok, this is a picture is real fuzzy, but you get the point....  A map of the hike at the trail head.

You start out by hiking
along a ridge

Beautiful forest scenery

The sun just coming up

Once you get out of the bush
there's a nice walk along a river

I've never seen more eagles
in my life

A look back along the river
to where I came from

The first section of the hike is through the trees, the second along a nice river (this is a tidal affected river, so the water level varies greatly during the day)  Previous to this trip, I had seen relatively few eagles in my lifetime.  During my hike to the shipwreck, I counted at least 2 dozen eagle spottings, and at least 4 eagles at one time.  Very nice.
After the trees, and the river section, you move out to walking along the beach. More of this on the next page.
